The global energy crisis, amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic and rapid changes in the European energy market, has profoundly affected Romania, exposing the population’s existing vulnerabilities to increases in energy prices and unequal access to resources. In response to this crisis and the urgent need for data analysis-based solutions, ORSE was founded in 2021 to provide policy makers with updated information and applied research on energy poverty. ORSE was created not only to monitor and analyze these phenomena, but also to facilitate the sustainable and just energy transition, aligned with European commitments. Through its work, ORSE supports the development of public policies that protect vulnerable populations and contribute to a better informed national and European dialogue on energy challenges. ORSE plays a key role in supporting energy inclusion policies and promoting a fair and sustainable energy transition.
