Carmen Greab is a researcher within the Department of Political Science at Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), Cluj-Napoca, and a PhD candidate in Sociology at the same university. She recently completed a six-month research fellowship on “Experiments and Deliberative Practices in Education” at the Kettering Foundation in Dayton, United States. Her main research interests focus on civic education and its effects on the political and civic socialization of young people, as well as on recent practices of civic and political participation. In this context, Carmen Greab and Daniela Angi have recently collaborated on writing and submitting a research project focused on civic education in Romania. The main objective of this project is to assess the formative effects of democratic education on democratic values and civic skills, while also providing a comprehensive overview of the civic education curriculum and related institutional practices in Romania. In addition, she has recently been involved in a pilot project on the introduction of participatory budgeting in Cluj-Napoca.
